Design Director, Headcast Lab

Aim:

Headcast Ltd are looking to employ a Design Director to direct and implement the branding, graphic design, web design and related items for the company, and lead the visualization of the customer experience (except animation).

HEADCAST LAB is an exciting digital platform that enables the rapid broadcast ('headcast') of animated characters and celebrities to customer branded Apps on mobile devices. Performances enabled, range from simple characters that clients can self-animate such as provided for Stephen Fry tinyurl.com/fryheadcast through to the broadcast of 'TV' quality programs to handsets. This is an exciting new company which is growing quickly, specialising in the development of digital characters, through animation and film.

Objectives:
*Lead the visualization of the customer experience (except animation).
*Oversee and implement a brand strategy for the business
*Oversee and implement sales tools and aesthetic design
*Contribute to customer specific pitch formats and designs
*Contribute to shaping the customer experience
*Contribute to shaping the market offer
*Support sales at some pitches

Nature of work undertaken:

The Design Director will take ownership of the aesthetic design process behind the development of HeadCast Lab products and will develop and support the delivery of the promotional mechanisms required to achieve business development and ultimately, customer satisfaction. Interpretation of customers' brands into the design and styling of the end App product will be of major importance. The successful candidate will need an excellent understanding of the technical issues related to managing the creative team responsible for the aesthetic design of HeadCast Lab's User Interface in its products and to work successfully with the animated content used within the Apps. Experience with Adobe suite, MS office, technical constraints of iOS, Android and Windows and Blackberry OS's is key. A major part of the customer engagement will be the development and ongoing refreshing of a promotional website platform for the business and all the supporting materials for successful business development including, sell-in tools such as demonstrator Apps. In addition, another part of this role will mean contributing towards defining client pitches, bespoke design and sales of Headcast products, and finally successfully leading the visualization of the customer experience (except animation).

Essential and desirable requirements and skills:

Essential Requirements:
*Design or Art Degree
*Experience of directing or leading at senior level within a similar organisation
*Extensive and up to the minute expertise in and knowledge of the mobile media market
*Successful design and implementation of branding for small and large businesses
*Successful design and implementation of branded product and services for customers
*Proactive approach and ability to work on own initiative
*Flexiibility and willingness to work at all levels within a growing team
*High levels of attention to detail and quality of work
*Exceptional and demonstrable ability to exceed customer requirements and expectations

Duration of the project: Part time in the first instance, with potential for a long-term opportunity.
