Marketing Executive- St Michael's Hotel & Spa

St Michael's Hotel & Spa, is looking for a graduate Marketing Executive to lead the growth and development of all aspects of the business, including; accommodation/short breaks, spa treatments, spa health and fitness, weddings, meetings and conferences, restaurant and private dining.

With stunning sea views across Falmouth bay, St Michael's Hotel and Spa is opposite Falmouth's sandy "Blue Flag" beach and is set within its own four acres of sub-tropical gardens. The hotel was bought in late 2001 by Nigel Carpenter who has invested 5 million in helping to transform the hotel into one of the best hotels in the South West. Awarded AA 4 Star and Cornwall Hotel of the Year in 2009, the hotel has received much acclaim. The hotel was awarded Silver IIP status last year and Gold in the Green Tourism Business Scheme. St Michael's Spa opened in 2005 and is Cornwall's leading destination Spa with large, heated swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and well-equipped gymnasium. The hotel enjoys a fine reputation for its food and has won a number of awards including a Rosette from the AA; the Flying Fish Restaurant offers first class cuisine and stunning sea views in a relaxed atmosphere.

Research and analyse the needs of new and existing customers and identify market trends and opportunities
Increase brand awareness, loyalty and engagement.
Liaise with external agencies relating to the creative materials, public relations, brochures, signage and advertising
Co-ordinate the growth of a customer relationship database of customers, businesses and prospective customers to enable the effective trial of both new and tried marketing initiatives

Nature of work undertaken:

The successful graduate will be working alongside the Digital Marketing Manager (who works 3 days a week) and Sales Manager, helping to create and build successful marketing campaigns. The role will involve working on your own initiative and liaising with external and internal clients all in relation to the effective marketing of the hotel as a whole, taking into consideration the departmental responsibilities and working with them to maximise revenue
Essential and desirable requirements and skills:

Essential Requirements:
Degree level qualification in marketing, business or related subject
Bright, confident, creative, innovative, commercially minded approach
Good interpersonal, IT, administration, numeracy and analysis skills
Experience of marketing, sales or business development
Experience of public relations and media liaison and/or copywriting
Demonstrable experience of working on own initiative
Graduates must not have previously been supported in a UCP Graduate Placement programme*

Desirable Requirements:
Marketing experience preferably in the leisure sector.
Experience of managing a successful project from start to finish
Graduates should ideally (but not necessarily) have graduated within the last 5 years and be unemployed or not fulfilling their graduate potential*
