Fashion Designer - Head Designer

Pelham and Strutt have an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer to manage a very hands on role in design, development and production.
The existing team at Pelham and Strutt have successfully launched their first range of ladies and men's shapewear and compression wear working in conjunction with the European manufactures own design team.
This year sees the production of the new urban footwear brand; the new collection is causing excitement amongst high profile retailers. Also in 2013 there will be the expansion into sports compression wear and outer-shapewear, as well as the launch of the Zipwear accessories.
It is time for the company to bring in a strong Individual to manage the design and development of new styles and trends across all brands in the company.
Providing new design concepts and expanding on the small product ranges across all categories is a key responsibility and this is a fundamental role for a highly motivated and experienced individual.
A strong designer who is not afraid to push the boundaries, you must challenge aesthetics through individual style whilst concentrating on product development and attention to detail.
Whilst knowledge of basic footwear design and construction may be useful, it is not essential as fabric design and functionality are more of a focus on the innovative, patented and unique concept in urban footwear.
Working closely with our European suppliers, the head of sales, buying and sourcing, you will be primarily responsible for finalising the new ranges of footwear and accessories for launch this coming year as well as sourcing new trends for coming seasons.
You must live and breathe the fashion industry with a full understanding of bring commercial and fresh ideas to the high street.
You will develop and maintain knowledge of current and potential market and fashion trends, provide a valuable contribution to the strategic plan for the business by proposing ideas about the latest moods, shapes, colours, fabrics and techniques. Produce mood boards to show the overall vision of your area as well as key design influences.
The ideal candidate will be from a branded or retail background and have an awareness of trends coupled with a commercial eye. You will have experience working with European suppliers, excellent CAD skills and be able to communicate designs clearly. Being able to fast react to seasonal changes is also a must. This role will suit an experienced Designer who is ready to take the next step in their career to head the design at Pelham and Strutt
