A leading chilled food manufacturer is currently seeking a Product Development Chef to develop and successfully launch new products for the major retailers, ensuring that they are commercially viable and meet the business plan. You will be highly creative and have experience developing products for retail or foodservice
Development Chef Responsibilities include:
Create new product development concepts for retailer brands, own brands, and sister company brand.
Manage the development of new products from concept to product launch.
Lead Development Meetings to ensure that all relevant departments work together to successfully launch products and develop new concepts.
Accurately maintain NPD's recipe files on all development concepts.
Present internal concept ideas to the senior management team.
Act as a contact to external customers, both on and off site in presenting products and concepts.
Submit recipes to the Finance Team for costing purposes and ensure deadlines are met.
Provide accurate information to the technical teams for the creation of specifications and methodology of recipes.
Ensure all raw materials and ingredients needed are ordered through the Purchasing Team.
Conduct comparative shopping and competitor taste panels.
Attend production trials throughout the pre-launch period.
Assist the manufacturing teams, post product launch to solve and improve quality issues.
Liaise with the Process Development Technologist to co-ordinate the transfer of products from kitchen to manufacturing.
Develop an in depth knowledge of the market place and new products launched by our competitors.
Collate costs and specifications from suppliers of any new raw materials or ingredients.
Despatch samples to customers as required
You will be a Development Chef with experience working in an FMCG Food manufacturing environment. Experience developing savoury or chilled products will be deemed advantageous.
